Ali Bahbahani, an overseas homeowner in Ealing, London, was fined £1.2 million for illegally
converting a property into flats and adding an extension without planning permission.
Despite repeated violations, Bahbahani profited from renting out the unauthorized flats.
Legal proceedings concluded on January 25th, resulting in a confiscation order of £1,283,444.
Ealing Council is also set to recover over £16,000 in unpaid taxes.
The property has been sold to a new owner, and the council is assisting in rectifying the unauthorized alterations.
Councillor Shital Manro warned against abusing the planning system,
emphasizing the importance of obtaining proper permissions.
